Percentage to Fraction Calculator
Enter a percentage and get the fraction in lowest terms. Works with whole numbers and decimals.
How it works
A percent is “out of 100”. So 35% is 35 over 100. If the percent has decimals, scale both the top and the bottom to remove the decimal, then simplify.
Fraction = (Percentage ÷ 100) and then reduce to lowest terms
Examples. 25% = 25/100 = 1/4. 12.5% = 12.5/100 = 125/1000 = 1/8. 150% = 150/100 = 3/2 which is 1 1/2 as a mixed number.
When this helps
- Maths homework and exam prep
- Recipes and measurements where fractions are easier to read
- Converting between formats for worksheets and reports
- Quick checks when comparing ratios
Results are simplified automatically. For mixed numbers over 100%, the whole part is shown as well.
