Percentage Change Calculator

Enter two numbers and find the percentage change between them. It will show if the result is an increase or a decrease.

How it works

Percentage change measures the difference between two values as a proportion of the original. The formula is:

(New Value − Original Value) ÷ Original Value × 100

For example, a salary that rises from £200 to £260 has changed by £60. £60 ÷ £200 × 100 = 30. This means the salary has gone up by 30 percent.

When to use this calculator

  • Comparing prices over time
  • Working out salary rises or cuts
  • Analysing sales growth or drops
  • Measuring changes in costs or bills

It handles both increases and decreases automatically, so you do not need to pick the right tool in advance.
