About the cumulative percentage tool
Cumulative percentages show how much each step adds up to out of the total. They are essential for Pareto charts, running totals and sense checks in data sets. This calculator takes a series of values, works out the total and then shows each running contribution as a percentage. As you add values row by row, the percentages update in order so you can see where the 50%, 80% or 100% marks land.
This is useful for business analysis, exam scoring, budget checks, stock management and more. For example, if you list sales by product, you can see at what point you pass 80% of total sales. That is the core of the Pareto principle (the 80/20 rule), which often highlights which few items drive most of the result.
The tool is simple by design. You can add or remove rows, the total recalculates instantly and the percentages are rounded to two decimals. Copy the figures into a spreadsheet if you need graphs, or just use the tool for quick checks before meetings. Stable Numbers keeps jobs like this quick and reliable.
