About this calculator
Child Benefit is paid weekly at one rate for the eldest or only child and a lower rate for each additional child. The High Income Child Benefit Charge applies if the higher earner’s adjusted net income exceeds the threshold. From 6 April 2024 the threshold rises to £60,000 and the charge removes 1 percent of your benefit for each £200 over £60,000, so it is fully removed at £80,000. Adjusted net income is your total taxable income before personal allowances, less things like gross pension contributions and Gift Aid grossed up. This page models those rules and shows your net position over the year and per payment cycle.
Rates and thresholds can change. The values are editable so you can match a future year or your award letter. This is a planning tool, not advice.
